Too many times I've either joined a project or been hired to consult on one, where the team has just not kept a handle on their scope!
Too many indie studios - for example - plan to make an open world, fully destructible, creature collector with a team 4 of graduates, fresh into the industry.
ScopeBoxer is designed to show you the size of your project in 3D so you can see just how big the project is that you're planning to make!

Start with your MVP in the centre, the core of the project that you're planning to make.
Add Boxes for features, maps, gameplay-loops, and all those other big things.
Add Bits for the smaller parts; characters, props, and extra features that would be nice.

Be honest with yourselves as you scope. If you're making a creature collector with 300 fully animated 3D beasts, break it down with bits. Take a look at how big that would be in 3D. Now remove some bits to bring it down to 200, then 150, then 100 and just see how big your project looks now. All of those creatures will need concepting, modelling, texturing, rigging, animating, and balancing in the game to make them functional and not forgettable.

And when you're done, hit the print button.
All the information you've just put in will be read and printed to your desktop as a text file. Simply copy and paste the information you want to your team, your GDD, and wherever else you want it.
